Welcome to Desktop Timeline

The idea is simple. I will provide those interested with historical timelines of different types which include a space in the top left corner for the normal desktop icons.

The layout of all timelines will be the same which allows for a simple switch between desktop images! They can also be used as screensavers for real history freaks!

I will try to be as accurate as possible, but should an error present itself somewhere, please inform me.

The purpose is to provide easily accessible historical information for as many people as possible on as many different subjects as possible.

Japan

From now on I will try to make two versions of each desktop - one widescreen and one normal.

Sources

As far as sources are concerned, I mostly use Wikipedia. I believe this information to be accurate enough for the purpose of the site. Some dates can be somewhat vague, but then I try to use the most frequent one, or a sort of "middle date". The battle of El Alamein is an example of this.

Images and diagrams are taken from Google's Image search. I try not to use copyrighted material. If someone wants to take credit for a picture or if I am using something copyrighted please inform me and I will correct it as soon as possible.

Once again, this site is created to spread education for those who want it. I hope you do.
